Celebrity Big Brother star Marisha Wallace stands to win one of the most prestigious awards in the acting world - but will remain completely in the dark due to show rules.

The 38-year-old American actress entered the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this month straight off the back of performing in a critically acclaimed production of classic musical Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre in London. The actress has won over critics and audiences in the UK after landing starring rolls in a string of huge West End productions.

In 2016, she starred as Effie White in a production at Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre, played Becky in a 2019 production of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre, played Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray at the London Coliseum in 2021, and as Ado Annie in the 2022 production of Oklahoma! at the Young Vic Theatre. And now she has landed a Best Actress in a Musical nomination at an awards show for playing Miss Adelaide in Guys & Dolls.

On Tuesday, the Olivier Awards 2024 with Mastercard announced their line-up of nominations. The awards are considered one of the most prestigious theatre awards in the world and attracts the top performers in the UK.

Marisha will compete for the top award in the musical category alongside fellow American star Nicole Scherzinger, 45, for her barnstorming performance in Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre. Natasha Hodgson for her role in Operation Mincemeat at the Fortune Theatre and Caissie Levy for her role in Next To Normal at the Donmar Warehouse are the other two nominees.

While the news of her nomination is fantastic for Marisha - she won’t be told about it as she is currently starring in Celebrity Big Brother. The show announced her nomination via X but stated: “Today in things that could only happen on Celebrity Big Brother... Marisha has been nominated for an Olivier Award, but won't even know until she leaves the House! #CBBUK."

The news Marisha is being kept in the dark has angered many fans, with one hitting back at the X post to demand: “TELL HER?????? like what????” However, others appreciated that the rules of CBB are strict, with one writing: "they cant known abt the outside world." And another wrote: "It's always like that in big brother house."

But other fans are predicting that Marisha will not just win her Olivier Award - but also Celebrity Big Brother itself. One fan mused: “Imagine having a double winning.” And another wrote in a hopeful and supportive tone: "All road leads to Olivier Awards for Marisha."

The Olivier Awards 2024 with Mastercard will return on Sunday 14 April 2024 at the Royal Albert Hall, presented by Emmy winner and multi-Olivier nominee Hannah Waddingham. Celebrity Big Brother continues on ITV1 and ITVX nightly at 9pm.
