Omid Scoobie has announced that he has another royal book on the way titled Royal Spin.

The controversial author - who is known as Meghan Markle's 'mouthpiece' as the Duchess admitted that a former aide gave the author help with his first book Finding Freedom - is adding to his existing list of titles. But the new book is a little different to his past body of work as while Finding Freedom and Endgame were supposedly fact-based, Royal Spin is his first foray into the world of fiction.

The book will follow the story of a "young American woman who leaves a press role at the White House for one at Buckingham Palace." He will be co-writing the tome with US young adult fiction author Robin Benway, with it being billed as a "fun, fish-out-of-water romantic workplace comedy."

The plotline will also offer "a hotbed of office politics where tradition (almost) always wins". Omid, 42, admitted his joy at the new project calling it "exciting news" and stating that it "marks the start of something very special."

Writing on X he told his followers: "Some exciting news to share [via @PublishersWkly]. Can't wait to share more details about this project with you all. Today's announcement marks the start of something very special."

Meanwhile, rights to the book were acquired in North America by executive editor of Harper Collins subsidiary William Morrow. Co-author Robin also shared the update writing: "It's been a minute but here's some exciting news!"

Yesterday, Omid shared his view on the Princess of Wales issuing an apology over the edited photo she shared for Mother's Day. He tweeted: "It's fair to say that most photos released by the offices of public figures have been retouched in some way, so *if* this was an isolated incident then it would just be an unfortunate error.

"But with the Palace's long history of lying, covering up, and even issuing statements on behalf of family members without their permission (cc: Prince Harry ), it's becoming increasingly difficult for the public to believe a word (and now photo) they share. Gaining that back at this point is an almost impossible task."

Earlier in the day he made a jibe at Kensington Palace taking to X to critique their communications team seemingly for the incident. He wrote: "Wonder what it would be like if they had a good comms team?" He also called the Palace's decision to withdraw the photos after they had already been circulating for some time as "mysterious".

Omid previously made headlines with his release of Endgame in November 2023, and he co-authored Finding Freedom in 2020.
