Lauren Goodger has weighed in on Kate Middleton's Photoshop scandal as she insists that 'everyone' edits their social media images.

The TOWIE star, 37, is no stranger to using filters and has been called out for using Photoshop on her previous posts, but Lauren feels that the Duchess of Wales has come under unnecessary scrutiny and criticism for her Mother's Day upload.

Princess Kate confessed on Monday to editing the snap of her and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and has even come out with a heartfelt apology after some of the world's leading press agencies accused the wholesome family photo of being altered.

Now, reality TV star Lauren has shared her thoughts on Kate's Mother's Day post. Taking to her Instagram stories, the star reshared the photo and alongside it, she wrote: "I absolutely love this picture. So, why oh why is a most beautiful mother and future Queen of England under fire for Photoshop gate? Really? So what. We all do it. What's the fuss?

"Pull aside filter police and instead of making drama about it, celebrate Kate and her safe recovery after her operation. Kate is an inspiration. Don't knock her," Lauren added.

It comes after the Associated Press (AP) Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Getty Images all separately issued a "kill notice" to media organisations around the globe, in which they confirmed the image had been deleted from their libraries. The UK Press Association did the same until they had further information from Kensington Palace.

Kate addressed the Photoshop error in a rare person post on X. In it, the princess admitted: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C"

Meanwhile a palace source added: "The Princess has shared a statement on social media. This was an amateur, family photograph taken by the Prince of Wales. Their royal highnesses wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother's Day. The Princess made minor adjustments as she shared in her statement on social media. The Wales family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day."

The photograph shows Kate embraced by Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, five. The image, the palace said, was taken by Prince William and was posted on social media. It was the first official photo of Kate since she had abdominal surgery earlier this year. The 42-year-old future queen had last been pictured in public during a Christmas Day walk in Sandringham, Norfolk.

The Mirror has approached Kensington Palace for comment.
