A mum shared how her Mother's Day celebration was "ruined" at the Cabbage Hall Bar and Grill, Anfield despite making plans months in advance.

Barbara, from Anfield, revealed that they booked a table at the restaurant as early as January to avoid the last-minute rush associated with Mother's Day. However, she was shocked when they were turned away on the day because all tables had been cancelled.

Speaking about their unpleasant experience, the 55 year old told the ECHO: "We go [to the Cabbage] quite a bit but we won't be anymore. We booked early so we would get a table. Mother's Day is a good time to catch up with the family.

“The manager said she had emailed everyone that morning (March 10) and said she couldn’t do anything about it. She was rude and was still serving people and wouldn’t stop to talk to us.”

According to Barbara, upon their arrival, the restaurant was full of customers enjoying their meals. Even though they were told all tables were cancelled due to an email notification, they insisted they never received any such communication, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Barbara and her family were said to have not been the only ones treated this way. Another group also reportedly got turned away while Barbara was present. The mum didn't mince words in describing manager Bev as "rude".

Barbara shared that the whole ordeal spoiled her Mother's Day, saying: "The place was full of Liverpool fans, the restaurant was open and people were eating." On Mother's Day, Barbara had to scramble to find another place to eat. Luckily, she found a spot available in Aintree.
