Emma Stone's dress breaking
The most notorious wardrobe malfunction of this year's Oscars was when Emma Stone's dress broke before she accepted her Best Actress trophy for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. The 35-year-old actress walked down the red carpet in a strapless mint-hued Louis Vuitton dress.

But as she collected her second-ever Oscar and made her acceptance speech at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Emma told the star-studded crowd not to look at the back of her gown.
"My dress is broken, I think it happened during I'm Just Ken," she jokingly started her speech, referring to Barbie actor's Ryan's earlier performance on stage ahead of Emma's big win."I don't know what I'm saying," Emma admitted, before telling her peers: "The other night I was panicking, as you can kind of see happens a lot, that maybe something like this could happen, and then [director Yorgos Lanthimos] said to me, please take yourself out of it.
"And he was right because it's not about me. It's about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies is all of us together. And I am so deeply honoured to share this with every cast member, with every crew member, with every single person who poured their love and their care and their brilliance into the making of this film. And Yorgos, thank you for the gift of a lifetime, and Bella Baxter. I'm forever thankful for you. Thank you for inviting all of us to be members of this team."
She thanked her family and gave a special shout-out to "my daughter, who is going to be three in three days and who turned our whole lives technicolour." The two-time Oscar winner sweetly told her daughter: "I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl." And before leaving the stage, Emma joked: "Don't look at the back of my dress."
Emily Blunt's floating straps
Emily Blunt's dress also created some discussion online, with many fans confused at the floating straps on her shoulder. As the nominees for Best Supporting Actress were being read out, John Krasinski squeezed Emily's hand. She was nominated for her role in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. It was Emily's first-ever nomination at the Academy Awards, but she did not secure the Oscar. Instead, Danielle Brooks won for her role in The Color Purple.
As John was trying to support her, fans were more focused on her dress. When she sat down in her chair at Dolby Theatre, fans commented the straps on her dress looked a bit odd. One said: "I can't unsee the straps of Emily Blunt's dress."

Margot Robbie's unflattering dress

She accessorised her look with a gold cuff and matching ring from designer Fred Leighton. The Australian actress also wore her blonde hair loose in a tousled style and finished off her look with a natural nude-toned makeup palette.
But it seems the elegant classical look didn't please everyone with many rushing to social media to take aim at Margot's stylist for her appearance. Critics called the look underwhelming at hit out at it for not complimenting her body shape in the way it should.

A third slammed the look referring to her past red carpet appearances promoting Barbie: "The most epic and stylish fashion streak of all time ended with this absolutely boring yawn of a dress."
Another social media user agreed: "So disappointed! I was expecting EPIC." Not stopping there Margot's undone hair style then came under fire with one fan writing: "The hair?" and adding a crying emoji. Another observed: "All her gowns are great but she can do better with the hair. I don't know what her hairstylist is always thinking?"
Liza Koshy's high heels
It's a celebrity's worst nightmare when attending an awards ceremony, but Liza Koshy coolly brushed off an awkward moment. As the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star, 27, took to the Oscars red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood she looked stunning.
However, the outfit, made up of a tight red gown and huge eight-inch high heels, clearly caused chaos with her movement as the star took a tumble. Despite the embarrassing fall, the actress hilariously brushed it off and blamed an imaginary manhole.
As a number of onlookers rushed to try to help her back to her feet the star was heard saying: "That's alright. There was a man hole, y'all saw that?"
Fans were quick to comment on the moment online, with the fall shared around Twitter, formerly X. While some fans hit out at her impractical outfit, others leapt to her defence and praised her for how she reacted to the incident.
One user said: "Liza Koshy's stumble on the red carpet at the Oscars will always be remembered, but the way she owned it with confidence and flair was just as memorable! Her witty response showed her cool under pressure. While many were quick to joke about the slip, Liza showed her sass and grace through humor."
While a second queried whether it was an intended fall, another joked: "As she's trying to stand up we hear someone yelling 'Shake it off, shake it off! That never helped in Little League when I was 8yrs old. It ain't gonna help on the #Oscars2024 red carpet either.'"
