Bradley Cooper’s Oscars drought continued as he walked away empty-handed from Sunday night’s ceremony.

49-year-old Bradley missed out on Best Actor yet again - marking the tenth time he has failed to take home the prize. The American Hustle star was nominated for his performance in the biographical romantic drama Maestro - which he also directed, co-wrote, and co-produced - but lost to Cillian Murphy who walked away with the prize for his role in Oppenheimer.

Over the years, Bradley has received a whopping 12 nominations at the Academy Awards - but is still yet to secure a win. Despite his appearances in a catalogue of critically acclaimed projects, he has yet to earn himself a trophy for his hard work - making him one of the Oscars’ most nominated people without a win. Maybe it will be 13th time lucky for Bradley?

The Hangover actor - who brought his mum as his date on Sunday night - was up against stiff competition. As well as Cillian, he was nominated against Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Colman Domingo (Rustin), and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction). Sadly for Bradley, his performance as Leonard Bernstein wasn’t good enough to see him beat the other four stars in the tough category.

Maestro was also up for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay - but was beaten by Oppenheimer (Best Picture) and Anatomy of a Fall (Best Original Screenplay). The film also missed out on all seven awards it was nominated for at the BAFTAs last month.

Bradley’s losing streak began back in 2013. The actor received his very first Academy Award nod back for his critically acclaimed performance in Silver Linings Playbook - but lost out to Daniel Day-Lewis, who won for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln. The unlucky actor - who is currently rumoured to be dating Gigi Hadid - has also been nominated for his work in American Hustle, American Sniper, A Star is Born, Joker, Nightmare Alley, and now, Maestro.

Bradley surprised fans when he opted not to walk down the red carpet with his 28-year-old supermodel girlfriend. While Gigi and Bradley are yet to go official, the Oscars were rumoured to see the hard launch of their relationship.
