McDonald's brings back fan favourite Easter treat - but axes nine other items
McDonald's is set to cut nine items in a major menu shakeup this week - but is bringing back a fan favourite in time for Easter.
Among the snacks facing the axe from the menu is a hugely popular McFlurry described by some as the "best ever". The KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry will be disappearing from Tuesday, the chain has announced.
The sweet iced treat, which includes roby chocolate-covered KitKat pieces and a pink raspberry sauce, joins eight other dishes to vanish. Alongside it will go the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry, which includes regular KitKat pieces.
The beloved Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with bacon are also leaving, as are the mozzarella dippers. But it's not all bad news for Maccies-lovers, as three Easter sweet treats will hit the Golden Arches.
The Galaxy Truffle Bunny McFlurry and Hot Cross Bun Pie will be new additions to the menu from Wednesday. The McCrispy Deluxe, fan-favourite Creme Egg McFlurry and Halloumi Fries will also make a comeback.
Martin Lewis issues 8-week warning to phone users ahead of huge price hikesThe new Galaxy McFlurry will be swirled with pieces of Galaxy Truffle, bunny ears and chocolate drops, smothered in Galaxy chocolate sauce for £2.19. For sweet-toothed customers, the Hot Cross Bun Latte will be added for £2.69. Topped with cinnamon cream and a hot cross bun flavour dusting, the hot drink contains a cinnamon-spiced syrup tasting like the springtime baked good.
As of March 12, the following items will be gone:
The Creme Egg McFlurry, combining pieces of the iconic Cadbury Easter treat, will return again for £2.19, with a miniature version also available for £1.59. Meanwhile, the Hot Cross Bun Pie, for £1.99, combines a crispy cinnamon pastry and spiced fruit mix and butter-flavour cream filling.
Also making a long-awaited return is the McCrispy Deluxe after its hit debut last summer. The £5.89 burger is a slightly posher version of the standard McCrispy with a 100% chicken breast patty in hot and spicy mayo, topped with cheese and bacon. The following items will be on the menu from Wednesday, March 13:
