Fergie explains meaningful 'greatest present' she gave Eugenie for 18th birthday
Sarah Ferguson and her younger daughter Princess Eugenie have recorded a sweet video together which was released to celebrate Mother's Day.
The mum-and-daughter duo spoke during an interview, shared by The Anti-Slavery Collective, to talk about Sarah's work to tackle modern slavery and share some incredible survivor stories. Eugenie described her mum as "a huge inspiration" as she said: "I wanted to interview you, mumsy, because you are a huge inspiration to me and Beatrice and Jules, my co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective.
"Your mission from the very beginning of time, before Beatrice and I were born, has been to impact other people's lives around the world. And it's been such an inspiration to me growing up, I thought, what fun it would be if I interviewed you and shared your wisdom and impactful, incredible inspirational energy, with our community at The Anti-Slavery Collective and everyone else, because you really are an inspiration.

I think we tell everyone a lot how much you mean to us." During the interview, the Duchess of York spoke about her humanitarian work around the world, even before her daughters were born, and highlighted how important it is to help those suffering, mentioning the suffering of people in several countries including Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan and Palestine.
Sarah also spoke about the importance of education and telling children they should learn about the suffering of others. She recalled when, on Eugenie's 18th birthday, she made her visit a teenage cancer unit, which she described as "the greatest present" she ever gave her youngest daughter, as she said: "You understood how lucky you were and I believe that one of the finest things I've ever done in my life is make you and Beatrice the people you are by guiding you through philanthropy and impact - and giving from the heart with love because you want to, not because you have to."

Eugenie said her mother started her on a path that eventually encouraged her to found her charity, The Anti-Slavery Collective, when Sarah took her and her friend Jules to Kolkata in India, where they met girls they worked with to raise awareness of slavery as they told them about their experiences being trafficked by gangs.
Sarah thanked her daughter for giving her an opportunity to speak about her work as she said: "I am very, very grateful to you. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for giving me this time to be interviewed and talk about things which I'm really passionate about because it's really giving to my heart." The interview was shared on the charity's YouTube channel and was promoted on Instagram too.
Meanwhile, the Palace also released the first picture of the Princess of Wales following her abdominal surgery. The photo of Catherine and her children, taken by the Prince of Wales in Windsor earlier this week, was posted on social media to mark Mother's Day.
In the post she said: "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day. C."
The picture shows Catherine sitting in a chair with her arms around Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who are on either side of her, with Prince George standing behind, as all four smile at the camera. The photo of the princess is the first released since she was admitted to the London Clinic - the private hospital where the King underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate - for a planned operation on January 16.

Shared on the Royal Family's official X account, he wrote alongside a pink flower emoji: "Wishing all Mothers, and those who are missing their Mums today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday." The post includes a black and white photo of the then-Prince of Wales kissing the hand of his 'darling Mama' during a polo match in 1985.
Elizabeth II died aged 96 on September 8, 2022 after reigning for 70 years. Her oldest son Charles succeeded her and his Coronation was held on May 6 last year. The current monarch, 75, is undergoing treatment for an unspecified cancer, following diagnosis in January.
Elizabeth died "peacefully" at Balmoral. All of her children - Charles, as well as Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward - rushed to be by her side after doctors became "concerned" for her health. Hours later she died surrounded by her family with Buckingham Palace announcing her passing.
