When it comes to proposals, some like an intimate and sweet moment between just the two of people, while others love a grand gesture.

And there are few things more grand than getting down on one knee in front of a Disney castle - whether that be in Disneyland or Disney World. For many, this is the height of romance - but it turns out some are getting bored of seeing them.

As a result, one man has been savagely mocked online for being "unoriginal" and "cheese" after a picture of him proposing to his girlfriend at Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland, California was shared online.

This is because of a particular detail viewers spotted in the background of the image. People soon realised that behind the couple's proposal, another man was getting down on one knee to pop the big question to his partner as well.

A double proposal! Is this the ultimate photobomb? It's not clear when the picture was taken, but it was recently shared in the Facebook group 'That's It I'm Proposal Shaming' in 2020. Thousands of people commented on the picture, with one person writing: "When you get the prime spot so the guy at the back has to propose by a bench."

Another said: "If someone else is proposing in the same area as you at the exact same time as you, that's your clue that your idea is completely unoriginal." Someone else commented: "If you're gonna get engaged at Disney at least pick somewhere not so common lol."

A fourth person replied: "So cheesy and cliché." "Why not wait an hour and come back or do it the next day. I don't get it," added a different user.

Another man's proposal came under fire after he used a McDonald's billboard to do it. The unnamed man used an advert for cheap McDonald's drinks, adding green graffiti to the billboard, writing 'Courtney will you marry me?'

The words are very hard to read and are almost lost against the background of a Dr Pepper and McCafe iced coffee. The gesture was branded "unimaginative' by people who saw it on social media.
