Sunday afternoon’s showdown between Liverpool and Manchester City promises to be a huge game in the title race.

The two sides head into the clash as bonafide title contenders, alongside Arsenal. Just a solitary point sees Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead of Manchester City and any kind of result at Anfield could see the momentum swing dramatically.

With Klopp leaving at the end of the campaign, he will no doubt be keen for his side to lift the trophy - a victory against Pep Guardiola’s potentially reigning champions taking them one step towards that. However, the Reds have been struck by a series of injury issues heading into the crucial stage of the season.

Mirror Football takes a look at the side that could take to the pitch for the biggest game of the Premier League season.

Starting in goal, Irishman Caoimhin Kelleher should continue between the sticks in the continued absence of Alisson. He has shone over recent weeks so there should be no issue with him starting against Man City.

Kelleher could potentially be marshalling a slightly different defence in front of him. Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson both played in the 5-1 thumping of Sparta Prague and are likely to feature once more.

There could be changes elsewhere. French centre-back Ibrahima Konate limped off in Prague, with Klopp later revealing his exit was a precaution.

Should that be the case, then he should be fine to play. Elsewhere, Conor Bradley looks likely to come in for Joe Gomez at right-back.

Moving into midfield, there should be just one change. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai should both start again after finding the net in the Czech capital in midweek.

The duo should be joined by Japan star Wataru Endo. The midfielder has been in impressive form over recent weeks and his tenacity could come in vital against Man City.

With one change in midfield, there should also be a slight tweak among the Liverpool attack. Darwin Nunez’s brace against Sparta Prague, coupled with his winner in his last Premier League appearance against Nottingham Forest, should be enough to see him lead the line for the Reds once again.

He should be joined by another of Thursday’s goalscorers in the Liverpool attack - Luis Diaz. Finally, Egyptian forward Mo Salah should return to the Reds lineup.

He had missed each of the last four games with a muscle issue before returning with a brief cameo in Prague. Klopp no doubt will be keen to start one of his big-hitters for such a key game.

Liverpool predicted XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Endo, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
