Josie Gibson's fans are up in arms after the This Morning presenter posted a glam new snap, with many expressing their frustration after she was snubbed for a permanent job on the show.

The former Big Brother star is a firm favourite with fans, and was rumoured to be one of the replacements after Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield left the long-running chat show. But after Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were announced as their replacements, Josie's legion of fans have been left disgruntled.

The 39-year-old posted a stunning photo on her Instagram grid, in support of International Women's Day.

She captioned the pic: "I don't think I've ever felt so inspired in my life after International Women's Day today on @thismorning with the one and only @dermotoleary. Thank you to all our guests and all the Team on TM. I have so many inspiring women in my life I feel very honoured and lucky. You know who you all are! Thank you for being you. Love Gibbo #internationalwomensday #thismorning"

Her fans flooded the comments section with support, with many airing their thoughts on her missing out on going full time.

One pondered: "Just don’t understand why she never got the job," while another encouraged her: "You should have been the main host, their loss." A third added: "Very pretty Josie, looking great. You’re really coming into your own as a TM presenter and I wish you’d gotten the full time job." Someone else commented: "It was such a great show today Josie, gonna miss you on that sofa. Think you should have been given the permanent job tbh."

But she won't be gone for good - Josie will still guest present, and will also stand in for Alison Hammond alongside Dermot O'Leary on Fridays over the next month. From March 8, Alison will be taking a break and won't be back until April.

She announced the news to fans, sharing a selfie of herself and Paddy McGuinness sitting on the This Morning sofa last Friday (March 1). She said: "Well that was fun @mcguinness.paddy until next time @thismorning... I’m taking this month off @thismorning and lovely @josiegibson85 will be filling in for me with @dermotoleary."

Adding the reason for her absence, she penned: "Gonna have some time off to move into my new house and chill with my son. See you in April love ya babs."

Josie shared her own message ahead of the new era of This Morning with Cat and Ben. Taking to Instagram, she posted a photo of herself in a blue belted dress, captioning it: "Me and @dermotoleary will be with you tomorrow, then we welcome @catdeeley and @benshephardofficial on Monday. Thank you for tuning in and showing your support for us at @thismorning. We appreciate you!!!!"

Josie added: "We can not wait to welcome Cat and Ben this coming Monday, @thismorning is and will always be one of the best TV families there is."
