Strictly Come Dancing's Caroline Quentin called her time on the show "horrible" and "brutal".

The 63-year-old star danced with Johannes Radebe in 2020 but said it was hard because of Covid, which meant she couldn't meet or hang out with anyone except Johannes. "I saw Johannes Radebe last week and asked if I had the worst year to do it, and he said definitely because normally we'd be socialising and meeting everyone. We were masked and had no audience. It was horrible, actually."

Caroline felt unlucky to join the ballroom show during the pandemic, but said the hard times made her and Johannes closer: "We used to laugh so much it was just me and him in a room and then we would put our masks on and go to our separate digs. It was pretty brutal. But he and I bonded, and I think that's us now for life," she added to Metro.

It comes after the Men Behaving Badly actress from Surrey talked about wishing she had spent more time with her kids instead of working so much. She regrets not saying no to some jobs to be with her children when they were young.

Caroline, the main earner in her household, confessed to Good Housekeeping recently: "God, I missed them. I mourned them terribly when I was away. I think that's probably why I feel so bad about it because it left a hole in me.

"People said, 'Oh, they're young for such a short period of time,' and I didn't listen. I thought I knew better, and I didn't. I should have said no to work and yes to them, but because I was the breadwinner, I thought I had to do it."

Sharing two kids with her husband Sam Farmer, who she met while filming Men Behaving Badly, Caroline admitted that working too much is something she has had to "learn to live with".

The actress shot to fame as Dorothy in BBC's Men Behaving Badly, in which she starred alongside Leslie Ash, Martin Clunes and Neil Morrisey. However, she now finds herself with the unlikely title of "influencer" after releasing her book, Drawn to the Garden, which stemmed from her posting photos on Instagram.

On her account @CQGardens, the star shares horticultural tips with her followers alongside a host of uplifting snaps of the actress, planning, planting and harvesting.

Happily, Caroline has been with her partner Sa, for two decades and credited her husband for helping her to achieve the success she has. Speaking about their bond, she said: "I feel very lucky because I wouldn't have achieved half of what I have without him.”
