Fake doctor who treated 30 patients at hospital with £6 degree arrested
A woman who pretended to be a doctor treated 30 patients in a hospital - before confessing she bought her degree online for just £6.
Mirian Santana, 27, was arrested on her first day in Coroados, São Paulo after healthcare professionals became suspicious of her degree. They had checked her registration which showed it belonged to an actual doctor and the degree she had claimed to have obtained was purchased online for £6.
Mirian said she had completed the course in 2022 but it was later revealed the program did not even begin until later that year. She was taken away by cops but it emerged she had already treated 30 adults and children, according to authorities.

The fake doctor was arrested on her first day at the clinic (Facebook)When she was confronted at the hospital, Mirian admitted to buying her degree online and that she was a speech therapist earning around £700 a day. Police said the 27-year-old claimed she landed the job at the hospital through an outsourcing company.

Miriain was arrested for illegal exercise of a profession, ideological forgery, use of a false document, danger to life and attempted embezzlement. The suspect was taken to Tupi Paulista while police investigate the alleged crimes.
It comes after a plastic surgeon allegedly gave children 'fake Covid jabs' and sold forged vaccination cards for £80,000.
Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr, from Utah, US, is alleged to have taken bribes from anti-vax parents to give their children fake Covid-19 vaccinations.
He allegedly injected kids with saline shots instead of Covid 19 jabs and would give them a fake vaccination card, which claimed the children were jabbed against Covid, according to Utah’s US State Attorney’s Office.
In addition, Dr Moore allegedly destroyed tens of thousands of dollars worth of Covid jabs, which he poured down the drain.
Prosecutors said: "Defendants also administered saline shots to minors — at the request of their parents — so children would think they were receiving a COVID-19 vaccine."
The doctor, along with two of his staff and a neighbour, allegedly carried out the scheme. Curt L. Muller, from the Department of Health and Human Services, said in a statement: “By allegedly falsifying vaccine cards and administering saline shots to children instead of COVID-19 vaccines.
"Not only did this provider endanger the health and well-being of a vulnerable population, but also undermined public trust and the integrity of federal health care programs."
The four accused allegedly used Dr Moore's plastic Surgery Institute of Utah Inc. office to run the fake Covid scheme.
All four, including the medical office, have been charged with conspiracy to defraud the US; conspiracy to convert, sell, convey, and dispose of government property; and conversion, sale, conveyance, and disposal of government property and aiding and abetting.
