Oti Mabuse and Danny Beard brutally mock Gary Goldsmith to his face
Celebrity Big Brother contestant Gary Goldsmith had a bruising time on the spin-off show Late and Live as fellow stars insulted him to his face.
The 58-year-old businessman - best known for being the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42 - became the first star contestant to be eliminated from the 2024 contest as he lost the public vote against 51-year-old Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon. After being evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, Gary was taken by hosts AJ Odudu, 36, and Will Best, 39, into the live studio to answer questions on companion ITV2 show Late and Live.
After answering a string of questions from AJ and Will, Gary was seated alongside Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse, 33, and 31-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard to sit through the remainder of the show. But if Gary was expecting a warm reception from his fellow celebrities, he was in for a rude awakening.
AJ asked Danny if he was surprised that Gary had lost the public vote against Lauren, he confessed he was not - and went on to slate the businessman’s fashion sense. He said: “I’m gonna be honest Gary, I’m not [surprised you were evicted]. Lauren knows what she’s doing on reality telly, you did feel a bit out of place. I’m not surprised.”

You look like Colonel Sanders. I thought he was going to share a five-secret recipe! You look nicer in denim.” Oti was not much kinder as she also admitted she expected him to get the boot. She said: “I did. I don’t want to offend you. I think because it’s a TV world. Lauren is a Housewife. She’s got that fanbase. Reality TV is what she does. People would vote for her [to stay]. And, I mean, you spoke a lot about the royal family. They want some silence at this point.”

Viewers who watched the main show had already watched Gary broke down in tears as he admitted he was unsure how to find inner peace. In a task, Gary was asked by former This Morning host Fern Britton, 66: “How have you found peace within yourself? Or are you still looking?”

“From one day I was Gary, a businessman, having a laugh with a great family and in a good place. The next minute, I’m a national villain because, erm.. if any of you thought to Google me, it is just s**t. But it’s not me. So I really don’t know what true peace is. If I’m honest.” He then shed tears and hinted the question had taken him emotionally by surprise. Fern expressed concern for Gary and said: “I think we all say May peace be with you? Thank you!”
