Gladiators hunk Legend is piling on the pounds - he has built up a £1.4million fortune from his gym business.

Legend, real name Matt Morsia, has raked in big money before finding fame on the popular BBC show. The TV star, who was a triple jump champion earlier in his career, started fitness brand Morsia in 2019. Legend, 38, has launched a fitness coaching app, weightlifting kit and a range of energy drinks.

Morsia Holdings Limited, the firm he uses to handle his fitness business finances, has assets of £1,358,361, including £600,968 cash in the bank. The former British triple jumper has also paid himself huge dividends of £410,000 over the last two years of trading, according to his firm’s accounts. The Gladiator has signed up more than 150,000 users of his fitness app, which costs £99 a year.

Meanwhile, the Morsia website is selling what he calls “the strongest energy drink on the market”. His firm sells strawberry crush, cloudy lemonade and a fruit punch 3 pack of cans for £5.99, while a pack of 36 cans of the caffeine drinks goes for £44.99. The website is also selling weightlifting kit, including belts and sleeves from £21.99.

Matt has also had over 386million views on YouTube - making him even more popular than Joe Wicks. And his business could see further profits now he is appearing on the hit BBC1 show which pulls in audiences of over 8 million viewers.

Legend describes himself as bringing "power and strength" to the Gladiators. Ahead of the start of the series he said: "I've been training like a beast for the show but realistically I didn't need to. I could've spent the last two months eating doughnuts and playing Dungeons & Dragons and I'd still be better than everyone else. I'm called Legend for a reason! I can only apologise for the irreparable damage I'm about to do to the contenders. Actually, that's a lie, I’m not sorry at all. I'm actively looking forward to it."

A former Championship bronze medal winning long and triple jumper, and silver medal winning powerlifter, he loved the 'showmanship' of competing. After retiring from international competitions, he continued performing to huge audiences and has become a highly successful fitness influencer. In 2020, he released his first book, 'The 24/7 Body', which became a Sunday Times Bestseller, upon its release.

Maybe he can hand his fellow Gladiator Steel some business tips. The star, real name Zack George, had a fitness business that went bust in 2018 with £53,000 debts. The CrossFit star, who won the title of the UK's Fittest Man in 2020, was personally left £10,000 out of pocket when Be-Fitter Limited was dissolved.

*Gladiators airs Saturday night at 5.50pm on BBC One.
