Bargain Hunt fans were up in arms this week as they grew sick to the back teeth of seeing the same episodes repeated time and again.

The hit BBC show has been on the air since the turn of the century and has aired more than 1,800 episodes. But in a scheduling move that could give ITV2 a run for its money, fans of the show have noticed that the BBC keeps airing the same episode time and time again.

On Wednesday, viewers were incensed when an all too familiar episode of the show took to the airwaves again. Fans saw popular host Christina Trevanion appear on screen to introduce a new team of contestants - a blue team and a red team. As standard, both teams had time to look around an antiques sale to pick out some items which they would buy and then attempt to re-sell for a higher price at auction - the winning team being determined by who made the biggest profit at the auction house.

But it was viewers who suffered the biggest loss as they quickly noticed 42-year-old Christina was introducing an episode they had already seen. The episode in question was from season 58 of the long-running BBC show - which originally aired in March 2021. But even since then, the episode has been repeated - and viewers flooded social media with complaints about the fact they had seen the same episode in recent weeks.

Taking to X, one TV fan grumbled: "Crickey, this was only on a week or so ago.Why don't they go back to the start.. #bargainhunt." Another agreed, complaining: "Im sure this was on not that long ago #bargainhunt." And a further fan whined: "I’m remembering all these items. Shows how many times this has been repeated #BargainHunt."

Another fan complained, writing: "Sure I've seen this episode at least twice #bargainhunt." But at lease one fan was enjoying the memory test the repeated episode provided, as they wrote in response to the mid-week episode: "When it's a repeat can remember items but not if made profit #bargainhunt."

The episode saw antiques experts Nick Hall and Ochuko Ojiri guide the red and blue teams through a sale to hunt down some gems. The red team consisted of Music Therpaist Ann and her retired husband Paddy - while the blue team was made up of married and retired couple Alan and Sally-Ann.

Paddy and Ann suffered disappointment at auction as they lost £55 on their purchases. But Alan and Sally-Ann didn’t exactly have a good day either as they also made a loss, but this totalled just £11. Elsewhere in the episode, Christina investigated the origins of Persian rugs and discovered the techniques used to make the high-end floor coverings.

She has been a host on Bargain Hunt since late 2019 - joining the series after the regular hosts were binned in favour of a rotating roster of presenters. David Dickinson was the fist host of the show, presiding over episodes from 2000 until 2004. Tim Wonnacott then took over until 2016. And now the show is hosted by Christina along with Charles Hanson, Eric Knowles, Paul Laidlaw, Charlie Ross, Anita Manning, Natasha Raskin Sharp, Roo Irvine, Caroline Hawley, Catherine Southon and Danny Sebastian.
