Phillip Schofield has dropped the biggest hint he is preparing a career comeback - as he has hired a new publicity team.

And the 61-year-old disgraced television host is keeping it in the family - as he has hired his own daughter, 30-year-old Molly May Schofield, to help him secure new work. According to reports, Molly has quit management company YMU - which used to represent Phil but dumped him in May last year when he admitted to lying about an “unwise, but not illegal” extramarital affair that destroyed his professional career.

Molly herself also worked for YMU, but her LinkedIn page revealed she left the agency in January of this year. Her page now lists that she is going through a “career transition” and is on a “career break” - but reports have stated Molly has been acting as a publicist for Phil and dealing with media requests for him.

Her active engagement in representing her father hints that Phil could be gearing up for a return to the spotlight almost a year since he spectacularly imploded his own career. And it has also been suggested that Molly has left a hole in the YMU team - who are said to be wishing her the best of luck for the future.

A source from the management company told the Daily Mail: “Molly was popular at YMU but it was always going to be a little bit awkward working there after what happened. Phillip was part of the furniture there, he was very important and very powerful so things must have changed a lot for her. As recently as three weeks ago she was negotiating with the British media about stories that had been published about her father, acting very much as his PR."

The Mirror has contacted YMU for comment. Phil has previously praised both of his daughters - Molly as well as 28-year-old Ruby - in helping him navigated his personal PR catastrophe. He told The Sun last year: "If it hadn't been for my girls last week I wouldn't be here." He has also been seen out in public with his daughters and his wife, Stephanie Lowe, in the months since his affair scandal nuked his career. While a source has previously stated Molly and Ruby are “staunchly loyal to their dad, despite everything that has gone on".

Phil has been back in the headlines in recent days as his former colleague Fern Britton, 66, has entered the Celebrity Big Brother house and has hinted she won’t shy away from discussing her frosty past with Phil while she’s in the house. They presented This Morning together for seven years - but Fern quit in 2009 amid reports of disagreements and arguments over unfair pay.

The current team at This Morning have been heaping praise on Fern for the way she is conducting herself in the CBB house. After scenes showed Fern chatting with Love Island's Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith and getting them to open up about their lives, 38-year-old This Morning star Josie Gibson told viewers: "Once a This Morning host, always a This Morning host, she's asking all the questions we want to know."
