True friendship is not always about who you would call in a crisis - it's something much more embarrassing than that.

We all have friends for different situations - those who we call when we need help, those who are more like family and those who we can rely on for a good night out. But one woman has taken to social media to share the true test of friendship, and many admit it's "so true".

Thanks to the world of social media, it has changed the way we interact with friends, but TikToker Cora Shircel shared how people can really test how strong their friendships are and it's all to do with those we turn to online. Now it's left people asking why it's so "embarrassing but so true" and others have admitted her claims are quite "sad."

Cora stated the real test of friendships isn't knowing "who you would call when s**t hits the fan and you're in crisis" it's more of "who you would not be embarrassed tagging in an Instagram post".

She then added: "I have plenty of friends but only a few that I would dare tag in a giveaway. That's true friendship," and claimed: "Why is it so embarrassing... But like it's not???".

Others chimed in with their thoughts and many agreed with her thoughts as one user commented: "This is sadly real," while another said: "Omg this is really real," and Cora responded: "It's the sad reality."

A third penned: "LOL like for real why is it so embarrassing though? I will only tag my husband and my sister," and a fourth shared: "Either that or you never talk to them so they have no shame and always tag you."

Another TikToker shared the master plan they have which has helped to combat the awkwardness and explained: "I have a deal with my colleagues. we can tag each other in everything, no questions asked."

However sometimes keeping in touch with friends online isn't always plain sailing, and things can come across in a completely different way over text messages, as one woman found out. The muddled-up communication broke up a friendship of 15 years when her former friend texted her asking for help with an outfit for a big event.

She texted her pal to ask for her shoes back as she had a wedding she wanted to wear them to. She went on: "Long story short she sent me an essay about how tough life is for her, and how ashamed she is, that she has sold my pair of shoes. These are Christian Louboutin shoes that were given to me as a wedding present a couple of years back.

"I told her that I was really angry at this, they weren't her shoes to sell. The friend went on to say she was under the impression that I gave her the shoes, and they were her shoes to sell."

Fuming, the woman went back through her texts to check the wording, adding: [The text] reads as follows: 'I have a pair of X you can wear, I won't need them for the time being so you can wear these if they fit you, you will look fabulous.' From my understanding, there was nothing about her being able to keep the shoes."
