This Morning star Josie Gibson praised Fern Britton's ability to question fellow contestants like a pro amid her stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

The former This Morning presenter used to front the show with co-host Phillip Schofield, who she fell out with during their time together until her departure in 2009. She went on to be replaced by Holly Willoughby, with the Dancing On Ice star leaving the show last year.

During last night's episode of CBB, viewers were delighted as experienced presenter Fern pushed Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith about his reason for signing up for the show. She asked the 58-year-old businessman: "Why are you here, how much can you say?"

The 66-year-old also chatted to Love Island icon Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu about her relationship with Davide Sanclimenti. This Morning even aired some clips of the former host, with Josie Gibson telling viewers: "Once a This Morning host, always a This Morning host, she's asking all the questions we want to know."

It comes after Fern questioned Gary about him being on the show after he wasted no time talking about his royal connections and sharing his opinions on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. His antics failed to make a great first impression on Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh who immediately put him in the firing line for the first eviction as part of their secret task.

The X Factor duo were asked to decide which three housemates to make vulnerable with Gary being up for the chop along with David Potts and Zeze Mills. Former This Morning host Fern was just as suspicious about Gary's intentions as she questioned him: "So why are you here?"

Ready for the scepticism, Gary was quick to fire back: "Because I want to prove I am not the caricature portrayed in the press." Fern then asked him: "And how much can you say about everything?" Gary replied: "Well I can pretty much give my opinion about everything," before adding: "Unless a red laser dot appears on my chest. It gives me a chance to demonstrate that I am kind and caring and I am kind of fun."

"They call my Buncle, a bad uncle, every family has one," he later joked. Viewers found the exchange hilarious and rushed to social media to tweet about it. One user said: "Fern may as well have said. 'Who the f**k are you' to Gary," and another said: "Love Fern Britton asking Gary why he's there."

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
