CBB's Ekin-Su finally shares why she split with Davide after being left 'hurt'
Celebrity Big Brother viewers are in for a treat ahead of tonight's instalment of the ITV reality TV show as Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu finally reveals why she and on-off ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti broke up.
A teaser clip of tonight's episode will see Marisha and Ekin-Su in the bedroom talking about relationships. Ekin-Su says: “They always say to me that the man should be more into the woman. Is that true?” To which Marisha says: “I think so. Always.”
Ekin-Su the confesses: “That’s the mistake I made," before Marisha asks: “You were more into him?” Ekin-Su, 29, who announced her split with Italian reality TV star Davide in January, confessed that she felt as though she was more interested in Davide than he was into her.
The Turkish actress then said that she was left 'hurt' by Davide's actions before making the decision to end their relationship. Ekin's Celebrity Big Brother housemate Marisha asks the former Love Island star: “What made you quit your relationship?”
To which Ekin-Su confessed:“Let's just say he hurt me.” It comes after Davide appears to be taking the ultimate revenge on his ex, Ekin-Su. The reality stars, both 29, called time on their relationship in January after winning Love Island in 2022.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesSince the split, Ekin-Su wasted no time in signing up for Celebrity Big Brother on ITV and now Davide is rumoured to be joining a reality show of his own. The Italian is currently sunning himself in Dubai from where he shared a steamy clip of himself emerging from the sea, wearing a pair of tight trunks.
After seeing the video, fans immediately compared it to a scene from MTV's Celebrity Ex on the Beach in which a group of single famous faces holiday in some luxurious sunny location.
The new series of the reality show starts on March 19 and fans are convinced Davide is going to be in it. Commenting on his video, one follower teased: "Whose ex is next?" Davide didn't deny the rumours, and simply replied: "Dead" with a see-no-evil monkey emoji.
It comes after Ekin-Su appeared to take a swipe at Davide as she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night. When host Will Best asked about her "ideal housemate", she replied: "loyal".
However, she did say she wished her ex well, telling Fern Britton : "I met love on the show which was great, great memories with that person and I wish them well, I've got no bad vibes for him, I really don't. I will treasure all the great times I had and I just hope he's fine and he's well."
Just weeks after leaving Love Island, Ekin-Su and Davide moved in with one another, but were hit with claims Davide had been unfaithful – which he strongly denied. Speaking about why they eventually broke up, Ekin-Su said there was pressure to be the couple "everyone loves".
Speaking in conjunction with Spin Genie, she said: "But that's just pleasing for the fans and you're not focusing on pleasing each other. You've accidentally put social media on the pedestal and not each other. That's what I've realised I need to do in future relationships."
The Turkish actress previously told the Mirror that she and Davide ignored the hate they received and focused on one another. Speaking just weeks before their split, she said: "We just ignore and we just live our lives privately and we focus on each other, like a normal couple and we're really happy. We just ignore the hate, ignore the pressure and live a normal life. That's what makes us happy."
However, reacting to their split on January 30, Davide hit back at his ex, saying: "Ekin and I, just after the ski holidays, decided to go different ways. It was a joint decision, but I was waiting to make it public to respect her time in the show.
I don't know why the agreed statement changed last minute. I agree, it was a beautiful story even with its ups and downs like all couples. I loved every moment, from the first time I knew her in the Villa until life outside. But sometimes in life people need to grow apart."
