Meghan Markle is attempting to make peace with her in-laws including King Charles and Princess Kate, claims a royal expert.

The Duchess of Sussex has endured a tense and strained relationship with the Royal Family, particularly in the wake of her and Prince Harry stepping down as working royals in 2020 and their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Their Netflix series which openly aired their views on the Royal Family was also thought to have made the relationship turn more sour, with damage thought to be difficult to repair.

But it appears that Meghan is now attempting to "put out feelers" to the Royal Family after she reportedly took a phone call from Princess Kate to "clear the air" after Omid Scobie's bombshell royal book reignited a race row in the Royal Family. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, royal expert and author Tom Quinn said: “Meghan doesn't want to go back to acting, but she's terrified that if things are not patched up with the Royal Family Harry will cease to be a brand asset and brand Sussex will suffer, so she is putting out feelers now that both Kate and Charles are ill. Underneath the huge ego, Meghan is actually a kind person and she was shocked by Kate's recent serious operation and Charles' cancer diagnosis."

It was more than two years ago that a royal race row was first sparked after claims by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey. The Duchess of Sussex is now focusing heavily on building the Sussex brand for her and Prince Harry over in the US, continuing their work since leaving the royal family in 2020 as working royals. The couple are still in limbo over whether their $20m Netflix deal will be renewed when the contract ends next year, and they are ploughing on with other endeavours including relaunching Meghan's Archetypes podcast.

The Duchess of Sussex has revealed she is "thrilled" to announce the series has been released on all platforms following her dramatic split from her Spotify agreement. It's described as a "podcast where we investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back," and all 13 episodes will once again be available now she has relaunched with Lemonada.

It comes a month after she revealed she had signed a new deal with Lemonada following the cancellation of her and Harry's lucrative $20million with streaming giants Spotify. In a statement last month, Meghan said: "I'm proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting."
