Phillip Schofield's daughter Molly has departed her role at the talent agency that represented her father for more than 30 years.

Molly Schofield has quit her role at YMU – which has represented showbiz talent such as Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall – after six years with the agency. It comes after her father was dropped from the company after more than 30 years following his revelation that he'd had an affair with a younger former colleague at This Morning and then lied about it.

The 30-year-old was even working in the office at YMU when she learned of her father's former romance with a younger This Morning runner and was reportedly comforted by her colleagues at the time. But, 10 months after Phillip was axed from the talent agency, she has now left and has been acting as her dad's publicist.

A source at YMU, which was formerly called James Grant Management, has revealed Molly was well liked at the company but the situation was understandably "awkward" following the scandal. "Molly was popular at YMU but it was always going to be a little bit awkward working there after what happened.

"Phillip was part of the furniture there, he was very important and very powerful so things must have changed a lot for her," a source told MailOnline. "As recently as three weeks ago she was negotiating with the British media about stories that had been published about her father, acting very much as his PR."

YMU dropped Phillip the day before he publicly admitted to the affair. He subsequently stood down from ITV and was dropped by the Princes Trust. He had been with the talent agency for 35 years before the scandal was made public and was reportedly "hugely involved" with the running of the country.

Announcing Phillip's departure at the time, Mary Bekhait, the group CEO of YMU Group, said: "Honesty and integrity are core values for YMU's whole business, defining everything we do. Talent management is a relationship based entirely on trust.

"This week, we have learned important new information about our client Phillip Schofield. These facts contradicted what Phillip had previously told YMU, as well as the external advisors we had brought in to support him. As a result, on Thursday we agreed to part company with Phillip, with immediate effect."

The former This Morning host apologised for the "unwise but not illegal" relationship adding: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife."
