Hairy Bikers fans were left in tears tonight as Dave Myers was remembered in a special episode of their show following his death.

Dave passed away last week and tonight, his and Si King's latest series was aired in memory of the much-loved star. It was confirmed earlier today that the latest episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West would air as normal following Dave's passing.

A statement issued earlier today read: "Despite such sad times we know that Dave would have wanted you to continue to enjoy the magical series that he shot with Si last year. We'd like to thank everyone from all over the world, who has reached out with messages of love and support over the last few days. Every one of them has been read and truly appreciated."

Tonight, as the new episode kicked off, there was a scene between Si and Dave where he spoke about his experience with cancer and how he thought it would stop him from doing what he loved. He told his best friend: "But after my recent struggles, it looked like our adventures could be over. When I was told I was ill, I thought I'd never ride a motorcycle again, but we're doing it, we're here!"

Fans were heartbroken as they watched the episode, which saw Dave and Si continue their travels to Wales. Taking to social media, viewers paid tribute to Dave with sweet messages and shared their heartbreak at their own feelings of loss.

"It doesn’t feel right that this series is the last we’ll see of Si and Dave. Dave’s passing has left quite a large hole in the culinary tv space #HairyBikers #HairyBikersGoWest," one wrote, whilst a second added: "Such a lovely guy. He will be so missed #hairybikers." A third penned: "Oh dave, if only you knew how missed you are #hairybikers."

Si announced Dave's sad passing in a statement last week. It read: "Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.

"All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own. Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow. I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime."

In his emotional goodbye to his best friend, he shared: "I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya. I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times. It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team.

"I am sending you all much love and gratitude for those simple acts of kindness, generosity and spirit. We are eternally grateful for them. May I ask you all for one further kindness and allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon. Love Si x."
