Vanessa Feltz has taken a savage swipe at her cheating ex Ben Ofoedu.

This Morning star Vanessa, 62, claimed that after she took Ben back after he cheated for the first time, he failed to make an effort to make things work before cheating again. Vanessa broke up from partner Ben, 51, after 16 years of dating last year amid allegations of cheating. The couple, who were engaged, split after news of multiple allegations emerged that he had cheated on her. At the time Vanessa was reported to be 'devastated' with the star later describing herself as 'hurt, crushed and dismayed' after the relationship ended.

Appearing on Tuesday's instalment of This Morning, the TV star said: "It's very, very, hard to throw away a long-term relationship when there's cheating involved. If you love them, if you're in love with them, and you really feel that they are your person, whatever you find or discover is going to be hard, but sometimes it can work out.

"If you decide to carry on and try again though, it's all about how hard the person who cheated tries and whether they really throw themselves into rebuilding your trust - that's the most crucial thing. What often happens - and I do speak from rather bitter experience here - the other person gets bored with it," she said.

"They get bored of being sorry, they get bored of being the one to have to fix things. And they very quickly lose patience with rebuilding the relationship. It's kind of like they know they're back in, that's it, they don't want to hear about it again. And that I think is the key, and they're not sincerely trying to win your trust back. That's the time to consider finally pulling the plug."

Vanessa previously opened up about her split from Ben as she told the Mirror : "As everyone knows, I had a very bad and broken heart and it was horrible. People think I've been amazingly brave, but really on the inside, I just feel as awful as anybody else would."

Vanessa announced the sad news of their break up following reports that Ben had been unfaithful. Her daughter Allegra previously opened up about how the alleged affair was discovered, after receiving 'abusive and extremely hurtful' messages on social media. Allegra said last this year: "It was on Christmas Day, of all days," and "We were all together as a family, but Ben was away in pantomime when the messages appeared via Instagram."

In January 2023, the This Morning star bravely faced the news, declaring: "I feel incredibly sad and I'm pretty disappointed and shocked and all those horrible things, but also full of resolve. I am not going to let this defeat me." Six months later, she jumped back into dating by joining the E4 show Celebs Go Dating. But even though Vanessa didn't find lasting love on the show, she's not giving up and is still on the lookout for romance.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Vanessa said there is nothing serious to mention when it comes to her love life, but there’s no denying her recent stint on Celebs Go Dating has provided Vanessa with the confidence to get back out onto the dating scene. So much so she’s keen to do the reality show for a second time.

“If they took me back then I’d give it more of a chance,” she says of the experience. “I’m calmer now so I’d be better. I’ve been dating, but I haven’t found anybody that really sticks yet. I’m trying my best, it’s not without effort. But one day," she shared.
