Good Morning Britain star says they were approached for Celebrity Big Brother

Celebrity Big Brother could have welcomed a Good Morning Britain star after they were approached to join the hit ITV2 series.

During Tuesday's episode of the hit ITV chat show, presenter Richard Arnold hosted his entertainment segment, where chat soon turned to Celebrity Big Brother, which launched on Monday night. The rebooted ITV2 series saw a series of stars enter the iconic house, including the likes of Fern Britton, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

However, a Good Morning Britain star also could have entered after they were approached for the line-up. During Tuesday's Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid said: "Did I find out yesterday, I heard you on a podcast saying you were approached to go in."

To which Richard, 54, admitted: "There was a conversation, a letter, yes, an approach!" with host Richard Madeley responding: "Why didn't you do it?" as the studio played a hilarious kerching sound effect. Susanna, 53, then quipped: "They couldn't afford you!"

To which a giggling Richard A added of being approached for Celebrity Big Brother: "Sharon Osbourne, £500K, and a tenner for TV's Richard Arnold! No, we didn't even get to that stage! But you know they send out these letters, they do a very broad sweep of talent, don't they, to see who might be interested in going in."

Hosts Susanna and Richard were both quick to interject as Susanna said: "You'd be brilliant!" while Richard added: "You'd be fabulous!" However, Richard A said in response: "I don't know if I'd want to open the book that far to be quite honest... £500K you say? Oh my God, I'd read the book to you! But anyway, it's going to be gripping stuff and I'm very much looking forward to the next few weeks!"

Celebrity Big Brother kicked off on Monday night with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best presenting with a live audience by their sides as they welcomed the 12 stars plus Celebrity Big Brother lodger Sharon Osbourne. Sharon, 71, is reported to be picking up £500,000 for her appearance on the show but it is believed she might not be in the house for the whole time, which was seemingly confirmed on Monday's launch episode as she was revealed to be Celebrity Big Brother's lodger.

Other celebrities include Nikita Kuzmin, Ekin-Su Culculoglu, Colson Smith, Gary Goldsmith, Marisha Wallace, David Potts, Levi Roots, Zeze Millz, Lauren Simon and Bradley Riches.
