Katie Piper has landed a major ITV contract making her the channel’s new “Queen of the Weekend”.

The third series of her morning show will now run on Saturdays as well as Sundays for 22 episodes in a shake-up. A source said: “It’s a massive show of confidence in Katie to not only recommission her show but to literally double it across the entire weekend. It’s little wonder she is being called the new Queen of the Weekend.”

Katie Piper’s Breakfast Show is produced by Cactus, featuring celebrity guests and chat. Boss Amanda Ross said: “I’m delighted ITV have given us the chance to produce a third series, recognising the success of her Sunday shows last year.”

ITV has two further treats, including Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast, with Jimmy Doherty and Shivi Ramotaur. The duo will front a show packed with food, family and lifestyle from Jimmy’s family farm in Suffolk.

The Chris McCausland Show, a chat series with the comic, will also run on Saturday mornings. The shows are part of a re-jig of the weekend schedule this year, in which Laura Whitmore and Oti Mabuse’s series will make way. The duo are highly rated and still work for ITV on other programmes.

Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment commissioning ITV said: “Our new weekend morning line-ups provide a mix of brand new formats and talent, plus a returning favourite.

“Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast will provide a wholesome start to weekend mornings. We’re excited to welcome the funny talents of Chris McCausland and we’re delighted to welcome back Katie Piper.”
