Every parent hopes to choose a baby name friends and family will love, but some ideas raise eyebrows more than others.

Now one hospital worker has revealed some of the most memorable names they've come across, and it's left people in hysterics.

The Aussie healthcare worker revealed that one of her "favourite" things to do with her colleagues is to discuss the "wild" names they come across from patients and their babies - and people have been left astounded as some are seriously unique.

In the viral TikTok clip, the medical worker said: "We had a young girl who we came across - I thought her name was pronounced Lea because it was Le-a."

At first she assumed it was a pretty straightforward name, so pronounced it "correctly", but she was in for a surprise. "You actually pronounce the hyphen as a dash, so it was Ledasha," she revealed.

The hospital employee then shared another name she'd come across. On a very "recent" occasion, she explained how the doctor had asked her how one patient's name was pronounced while in the emergency room. Thinking it was an easy one, she thought the name spelt Cviiilyn was simply "Civilian".

"I looked and I was like, 'Oh, that's easy, I really feel like that would be pronounced Civilian'." However it wasn't even close. She further added: "So he goes out into the waiting room and he's like 'Civilian, civilian'... nothing. After a while, this girl stands up and says, 'That's me and I think you mean Caitlin'."

It seemed as if the patient was "pretty unimpressed" with the mispronunciation and "proceeded to tell everyone that the Vii in her name was 'Roman numerals'." The heathcare worker explained: "So that was an eight, so her name was C-eight-lyn - Caitlin."

She then went on to reveal the "wildest" name she's ever come across on shift, and one she will never forget. The young child had a name so unique that it stopped her in her tracks. "I don't even know how they were allowed to register this. It was Shi-thead. And it was pronounced She-the-eed," she claimed.

"But they had essentially named their child S**thead. And they thought it was hysterical while they were explaining it to me."

People loved the video, and chimed in with their own experiences of unique names, as one fellow TikToker penned: "Worst I heard as a nurse is Kli-shae, pronounced 'cliché." While another added: "My kid's got a friend in nursery called Allergin."
