Pepsi devastates fans after axing cult-favourite flavour - sparking a petition

Passionate fans have started a petition to bring the 'best-ever' Pepsi flavour back into stores.

It comes after the fizzy drinks giant confirmed the product, which first launched in 2019, has been phased out. Pepsi didn't reveal any plans to bring the drink back to supermarkets anytime soon and says it will focus its efforts on existing flavours.

It's a second blow to Pepsi fans who are still mourning the loss of Pepsi Ginger, which was discontinued back in 2021. The end of the era isn't over just yet - as retailers including eBay are still flogging cans of the axed product whilst stock lasts.

Let's rip the plaster off. Pepsi Max Raspberry is no more. Fans first caught a whiff that the popular drink was being discontinued several months ago, as Reddit users said finding the zero-calorie item was like 'trying to find a needle in a haystack'.

Now the news is confirmed, fans are gutted and demanding action. Writing on Pepsi Max's Facebook page, one user wrote: "Raspberry was my favourite, typical it's been binned off!" Another fumed: "Need to bring back Raspberry flavour." While a third added: "Bring back the raspberry one it’s the best."

According to the Sun, a PepsiCo spokesperson said: "We're really sorry to disappoint Pepsi MAX Raspberry fans with this news and we understand they're sad to see the flavour go. This change will enable us to focus our efforts on making more of the delicious Pepsi MAX flavours people love, such as Cherry, Lime and our recently launched Pepsi MAX Mango."

At the time of writing, an online petition to bring Pepsi Max Raspberry back has garnered 68 signatures. "I've been searching on forums and many people want it back and are even going to stores far away to get it," said Atticus Schnell, the petition's creator. "This just shows how much people want it. It was my go-to flavour and I believe out of all the flavour options raspberry was the best."
