Despite living a seemingly amicable life following the announcement of their separation, it seems as though Christine and Paddy McGuinness still have a lot to work to do before signing their divorce papers.

According to reports, the comedian has allegedly issued the mother of his three children an ultimatum that states she is to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which will legally forbid her from discussing their marriage. An agreement would mean that Christine would be banned from speaking about her 11 year marriage and it's sad demise in public.

Following the allegations, Paddy took to Instagram to say the rumours had 'ruined his Sunday.' "It's saying it's a friend of Christine who has [shared this]. Well all Christine's friends have been to this house and I've made them cups of tea and I've had chats with them. If you are a friend of Christine and you want to know about this sort of thing then ask us direct. We won't pay you but we'll tell you the truth," said Paddy.

The couple announced they had split in July 2022. In her BBC documentary Unmasking My Autism, Christine said she should have ended her marriage sooner. "When I met my husband that was a time when I was very safe and I wonder if that's why I stayed. I know that I've stayed in a place where I was probably unhappy because it was safe and I don't like change," she explained. "I didn’t want my family to ever fall apart and that’s why I stayed married. As an autistic woman, I like to stay where I’m comfortable, I like things to stay the same."

Following the split, it's been reported that Christine has hired Catherine Bedford, a partner at the legal firm Harbottle & Lewis, who is known in the field as "the pitbull" when it comes to divorce matters.

Christine and Paddy have remained living in the same home in Cheshire with their ten year old twins Leo and Penelope and their seven year old daughter Felicity, who all suffer with autism, since their break-up.

And this is to ensure that their three children are not facing the impact of their decision to separate. Christine has revealed that she too suffers with autism and admitted during an interview on Vicky Pattison's podcast The Secret To, that life was hard for her to cope with prior to her diagnosis.

She said: "I just thought I was odd or weird and I was so hard on myself for being different and for feeling so different. Thinking, why am I like this? Why do I have to have everything organised? Why do I insist on having white walls? I just thought I'm really difficult to live with, I actually felt that I was difficult to live with because of how I am."

Christine added: "Once I was diagnosed, I was like okay, it all makes sense now. I can have a laugh about it now, have a joke, but as a teenager I really struggled. I ended up with an eating disorder, I left school really early and partied a hell of a lot, drank a lot of alcohol from the ages of 14 to 19 and then I stopped and haven't drank since."
