BRIT Awards viewers gobsmacked as winner accidentally flashes boobs on TV
BRIT Award viewers were left stunned on Saturday night when one of the winners of the night displayed her breasts through a sheer top.
The star studded awards show was broadcast from London’s O2 arena - with huge stars taking to the stage to pick up awards. Raye, 26, dominated the night as she was nominated for a record seven awards - and picked up five of them.
But one of the winners was announced a couple of weeks ahead of the glitzy ceremony as the Rising Star award was dished out before the main show took place on Saturday night. Indie rock band The Last Dinner Party were the winners of the coveted award - which has been won by the likes of Adele, Jessie J and Florence and The Machine in the past. The 2024 winners were declared in December 2023 - and the band themselves were invited to the award ceremony as special guests.
The band - consisting of Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci - were given a prime table at the awards and host Clara Amfo sat with them at one point in the evening. But as she took a seat at the table, viewers got more than they bargained for as the sheer dress one of the band members was wearing was transparent on camera.
Many viewers took to X to reference the shock moment, with one writing: "There’s a boob out on the brits #BritAwards." Another gasped: "#BritAwards that was a boob through a see through top." And another fan wrote: "anyone else notice the woman with her tits out on the Brits".
Red-faced Lorraine blindsided by raunchy texts from husband during live showOne stunned fan commented: "I was shook!" While another congratulated the daring fashion move, writing: "#freethenipple Fair play to her!" Clara sat with the group to congratulate them for their stunning award - which they had received in 2023.
Addressing the band, Clara said: “Winners of the British Rising Star award. It is all yours! You are Brit Award winners too.” She asked the band what their plans for the year head was and one of the group said: “We are playing shows, writing more music, trying to have a good time.”
Congratulating the group again, Clara said: “You are certainly having a good time. You are Brit Award winners. It is certified!” The group were one of the many winners of the night. Raye won the most awards, scooping Songwriter of the Year, Best New Artist, Best R&B Act, British Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. The only gong she didn’t win that she was nominated for was Best Pop Act - which went to Dua Lipa instead.
Kylie Minogue won the Global Icon Award and closed the show with a storming performance of her hits. Discussing her win and teasing her award show performance, Kylie said last month: “I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the Global Icon Award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists. The U.K. has always been a home from home, so the Brits have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the Brits stage. See you at the O2!”
