Dancing On Ice's Amber Davies sparks injury fears after suffering nasty fall

Dancing On Ice hopeful Amber Davies could be at risk after suffering an injury while the the 2024 live final is in sight.

The 27-year-old former Love Island contestant is competing on the long-running ITV reality show in which she is partnered with 32-year-old professional figure skater Simon Proulx-Sénécal. The couple have made it to the semi-finals - after managing to survive a skate off against Olympic skier Eddie the Eagle, aka 60-year-old Michael Edwards, and his skating partner Vicky Ogden, 39.

But Amber has revealed she has injured herself just hours before the semi-finals are due to take place. Taking to social media on Friday, Amber revealed she had taken a tumble on the rink - and that her leg was swelling up as a consequence. Fans may be concerned she could be at less than her best when the semi-finals air on Sunday night - or that she might be forced to pull out if the injury is severe.

Taking to social media, Amber shared a snap of her leg. She was wearing a pair of grey leggings - with a clear and painful looking lump developing on her thigh. Back off the ice, the reality star had slipped into a comfortable pair of shoes.

Sharing the snap online, Amber wrote: "Nice fall this afternoon. The lump" - alongside a crying face emoji. A Dancing On Ice source, however, assured the Mirror that Amber would feature on the show on Sunday night. They said: "Amber is skating as normal tomorrow. All contestants are supported by the Dancing on Ice medical professionals throughout the process." However, it seemed the injury hadn’t impeded her training too badly as she later shared a video of herself rehearsing with Simon.

Sharing a clip via her Instagram Stories, Amber was scooped up by her dance partner as he spun around on the ice. Amber gracefully threw out her arms and rested on Simon’s knee as he continued to spin around on the rink. He then lifted her back into the air before placing her safely down on the surface during the dramatic and impressive move.

Amber shared the clip while explaining how much she had enjoyed working with Simon over the past few months - since her involvement in the ITV show was revealed back in September last year. She wrote: “I will forever love and cherish skating with you @simsenecal” alongside a purple heart emoji. And Simon also added a message praising Amber. He wrote in response: “Happy to call you my partner @amb_d,” and adding a sparkly pink heart emoji.

Dancing On Ice fans hit out at the show last weekend as they were left convinced the show had been rigged to favour reality star contestants after Eddie was knocked out and Amber was allowed to progress to the semi-finals. Some viewers have suggested Amber has been given an easy ride after receiving repeated criticism but then failing to be voted off the show when the judges have a chance to save someone else. One disgruntled viewer commented via X after the quarter final result: "Every week Amber has been picked up for not skating alone. In that skate off it was 1 second if that!! How did she get through FFS! Fixed? Do they know the final line-up they want already?"
