Transform sad and droopy peace lilies with 10-minute trick that revives blooms
Your sad-looking peace lily might be salvageable yet with one quick house plant hack.
When they are at their best, peace lilies are a stunning addition to any home, with their graceful white flowers and dark green leaves that feature a glossy sheen. Not only that, but they have a myriad of other benefits, including that they can help reduce unwanted smells, absorb excess moisture and so accordingly reduce the risk of mildew or mould appearing in your home, and purify the air.
These clever multi-tasking plants are a popular choice of houseplant for a reason, but they can sometimes need a little bit of TLC, as they have a tendency to go a bit droopy if they are not getting the care they need, or have been placed in an area of your home where they aren't getting everything they need.
If your peace lily isn't looking its healthiest and needs reviving then there is a quick and easy ten-minute trick that will get it back to its best. As reported in The Express, houseplant lovers on a Facebook group called Peace Lily Families shared the simple tip, after one user posted a photo of her drooping and sad-looking plant and asked for advice on how to improve its condition.
Other plant enthusiasts were quick to explain that the best thing she could do would be to soak her plant thoroughly because peace lilies need a lot of hydration.

"Try sitting it in a bathtub of water to give a big drink soaking up from the bottom," recommended one. The commenter, whose lilly had been wilting, soaked her plant in her sink for ten minutes, only to find that it completely rejuvenated the drooping plant.
However, for this trick to work you must ensure that the pot your plant is housed in has drainage holes. "I just sat my plant on my counter beside my sink and sprayed water into it, soaked it really good until the water started draining out the holes," the plant owner explained about her method, adding: "make sure to drain the excess water out. It perked right up shortly afterwards."
The Royal Horticultural Society agrees with this method to help out a drooping lily, saying "plants can droop dramatically when they need watering, but soon perk up after a good drink."
However, if these plants sit in soggy compost for too long, you may find that their roots rot, so ensure you do drain any excess water after soaking, and try not to overwater them.
The best location for a peace lily is in a humid location - like your bathroom or kitchen - and they don't enjoy extreme temperatures, so try not to place it in a location that's either too hot, like by a radiator or where it will be subject to a cold draught.
