The Chase's Bradley Walsh issues warning to chaser after 'condescending' behaviour

Bradley Walsh spoke out against one of his co-stars on The Chase as he fumed over the "condescending" behaviour on the ITV quiz show.

The 63-year-old show host took aim at chaser Shaun Wallace, known as The Dark Destroyer, after he interacted with one of the four contestants who were looking to beat him to a prize pot worth thousands of pounds. Shaun was up against Annmaria and she had an impressive £6,000 in her cash builder and had made the decision to stick with that amount as she faced him on the table.

After Annmaria answered her second question correctly, it was met with a mocking clapping by Shaun, which brought anger to Bradley. He mimicked Shaun's clap and then reprimanded him, saying: "That's got to stop." Bradley then added: "It looks so condescending. It has to stop."

Annmaria wasn't as bothered as Bradley though, and she said that it was actually a positive act. The contestant responded by saying: "Oh I like it. It helps you to learn." Shaun was undeterred by Bradley's slap down and he continued to clap Annmaria and muttered: "Well done. Well played." The contestant thought Shaun's act was funny and replied to him: "I'll take that any day."

After the next question, Bradley mocked the chaser after Shaun incorrectly answered with the wrong type of fish. The show's host took the opportunity to replicate The Dark Destroyer's actions by clapping him, which brought shock to the face of Annmaria. After having some success, Annmaria joined her fellow contestants Tome and Laura for the final chase as they took a total of £17,000 to the final round.

After answering 14 questions in the final, the team were disappointed with their total as they feared it would not be enough to stay ahead of Shaun. Bradley tried to give some hope to them by pointing out that other teams have been successful with that total previously.

The tense finale saw Shaun starting slowly and answering incorrectly to the fourth question. With the team answering correctly and pushing the chaser back, it came down to the final 10 seconds for Shaun to catch them. Unfortunately for the chaser, as the final question was asked, the buzzer sounded and the contestants celebrated beating Shaun and having a share of £17,000.
