Cam Newton has apologized for the viral fight that occurred at his youth football event and is glad it wasn't worse. Instead of addressing how he fended off an onslaught of three attackers, Newton wants everyone to learn from what happened instead.

"To every single high school player, person of influence, and every single athlete, use my situation as a way to understand that in one moment, with one decision, your life can change," the ex- NFL star shared. "I let my emotions get the best of me, and it should not have been called for. With that, I apologize to anybody affected. That's Steph, TJ, their organization, C1N, my players, parents, and my staff members."

Steph and TJ Brown, whom Newton said sorry to, are coaches at Top Shelf Performance [TSP]. Cam used to work with TSP before he made his own team, C1N Red. They told the press their recollection of Newtons' actions, like calling himself their "daddy," showing off his money, and saying things to make them react. They told Fox : "Cam jumps out of his car and yells, 'Hey, all that sorry s*** ain't gonna work today. What [are] we betting today? What we betting? '".

TJ said: "I'm like, 'I ain't betting you, bro. I already beat you three, four times. You got to beat me first.' He like, 'What we betting? I got plenty of money. I ain't ever running out of money.' That's when I told him, 'That's your problem. All you care about is money. You think money is everything. You can't buy me.' And I walk off."

After the altercation, the head of Newton's program contacted him, acknowledging Newton's feelings but emphasizing the necessity of avoiding public fights in the future. Newton expressed concern about the negative impact of such incidents on his professional endeavors and the disappointment it could cause for the children who admire him.

The video footage depicted Newton engaged in a physical altercation with coaches from TSP. The situation escalated as punches were thrown at Newton, and an individual attempted to attack him from behind, prompting Newton to defend himself.

The situation further worsened when an individual in a white shirt struck another individual in the growing crowd, inciting a larger brawl. Newton found himself fending off three additional assailants, resorting to grabbing one person by their backpack and forcibly removing them from the altercation.

The former Carolina Panthers QB then intervened to ensure the safety of another individual by pulling them away by their hoodie. He subsequently pushed away two more individuals as security personnel intervened to halt the fight. The quarterback didn't say anything about the incident right away, waiting five days before posting on social media.
