Man accused of installing camera in neighbour's ceiling to watch her shower
A man has been arrested after he allegedly installed a camera in his neighbour's bathroom ceiling to watch her shower.
Brian Burnette, 48, from Houston, Texas, US, has been charged with invasive visual recording in a bathroom or dressing area after police found a memory card with videos of his neighbour in the shower.
The suspect and the victim lived in townhouses that shared a wall - and the neighbour started noticing holes in the ceiling of her bathroom in November, according to court documents.
She was concerned with her discovery and initially brought it up to a friend who went into the attic.
He discovered the drywall between the two neighbour's homes had been taken down and completely destroyed.
'My selfish neighbour stole our parking spot - my revenge means he'll regret it'When her friend was in the attic he also "found a small camera that appeared to be attached to a battery pack".
In addition, the camera lens was found to be "wedged into a hole in the attic floor, directly over (the victim's) bathroom."
The victim's friend discovered the camera had a memory card which he decided to check to see if the camera had been filming her in the bathroom.
Court records state Burnette inserted the card into his phone and uncovered 20 videos of the victim naked in the shower.
He also found a video of the camera being installed in the shower although the person installing it was not visible.
Her friend told the victim of his discovery and the horrified neighbour quickly told her landlord who contacted police in December.
Authorities found 20 videos on the memory card of the victim in the shower as court records stated she "does not appear to know the camera is there while taking showers."
In addition, police also discovered a video on the memory card which shows Burnette.
Cops contacted the victim and after the horrifying discovery, the woman demanded to leave the townhouse she shared next door to Burnette.
The victim contacted her landlord and requested to leave her residency, which she was given permission to do.
'Neighbour moans my hoover is too loud - I can't stop cleaning for their baby'Burnette's bond conditions stipulate he is not allow to be within 200ft of the home.
He was arrested last week and released on a $5,000 (£4,000) bond on Monday.
