Meghan Markle must have been nervous before her televised royal wedding to Prince Harry, but luckily her pal Wendell Pierce was on hand to offer some kind words of advice.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in a lavish ceremony back in 2018, with their special day watched by fans around the world. Meghan's life was about to change forever as she joined the Royal Family and Wendell wanted to make sure she was ready.

The actor, who played Meghan's TV dad in the hit show Suits, has now revealed what he said to Meghan when they finished filming her final day of the legal drama. "I said, 'Meghan, your life is going to change, and you're going to be in a bubble, but just always remember, no matter what, I'm your friend — you have lots of friends'," Wendell shared.

He also gushed that Meghan is the "nicest person ever". Things haven't been easy for Meghan and Harry since their wedding. The couple became estranged from the Royal Family after stepping down in 2020 and they've been involved in a number of controversies over the years.

Pierce said the attention celebrities get is "one of those things that sometimes you can't control", but suggested Meghan and Harry need to "rely on love" to support each other. He urged Meghan to do what's best for her family and "let that be your guiding light".

Meghan and Harry said 'I do' at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018, with the late Queen Elizabeth II granting them the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Thousands of well-wishers lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the happy couple.

Speaking about the build up to the ceremony, Meghan said she was in a "really calm space". Speaking on hers and Harry's Netflix docuseries, she admitted: "I don't know how I was so calm. All I wanted was a mimosa, a croissant and play the song 'Going to the Chapel'."
