It was a Delta flight delight for a plane of lucky passengers when a flight preparing to fly from Atlanta to San Juan had an additional guest no one was expecting. After boarding the plane, 190 passengers were 'shocked and stunned' when 73-year-old Sir Richard Branson joined them onboard before the billionaire delighted them with some ‘mind blowing’ news.

The founder of the Virgin Group boarded the flight to personally gift all SkyMiles Members (who were 18-years-old or older) a free voyage to sail during his newest ship’s inaugural season in San Juan, Puerto Rico, later this year.

Called the ‘Resilient Lady,’ the award-winning vessel will welcome the travellers from its homeport in the Puerto Rican city, where it’s set to head to via a transatlantic journey following its summer season abroad, in fall 2024.

Richard Branson said: “The Caribbean has been my home for many years, and I’m very excited to welcome Resilient Lady as she sails from San Juan to visit the region’s most beautiful destinations."

"My excitement clearly couldn’t be contained, so we came up with a way to celebrate with a personal invitation and surprise for some unsuspecting guests on a Delta flight to San Juan. We look forward to showing everyone what it’s like to ‘Set Sail the Virgin Way!’”
