Jenny Ryan is set to "break away" from her role on quiz show the Chase with her latest project which has been announced to her followers on social media this week.

The professional quizzer, 41, has appeared on the ITV show since 2015 and also features on spin-off Beat the Chasers, which launched four years ago. Alongside quizzing, Jenny, known as 'the Vixen,' also has a passion for music though.

It has now been announced that she will tour the UK later this year with her cabaret show Out of the Box, following its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August last year. The upcoming tour will run from September to November.

The news was shared by Jenny on Friday morning, with her having expressed excitement in posts on social media. She described it as "exciting news" on her Instagram Story and gave further details in a post that was shared on her page.

It read: "BIG NEWS! After smashing the Ediburgh Fringe, Out of the Box is off on a UK tour this autumn. Come along for an evening of cabaret charting the long dizzying road into telly stardom." The post further teased about it: "There'll be tunes, tales, trivia and a sprinkling of showbiz secrets."

The tour is set to begin at the Garrick Theatre in Lichfield on September 11 before heading to places like South Shields, Edinburgh, Taunton, Swansea and Bolton. It's due to end at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford on November 11.

Jenny has made no secret of her passion for music, having even competed on the X Factor: Celebrity in 2019. She performed Queen's Somebody to Love at her audition for the ITV contest and ended up appearing in the live shows.

She reached the final of the competition and placed third, behind runners-up Max and Harvey. The singing contest, which was hosted by presenter Dermot O'Leary, was won by reality TV star Megan McKenna following a public vote.

It has been teased that audiences will get to hear Jenny's "powerful voice" that "blew the judges away" on the show during the upcoming cabaret tour. Information about Out of the Box has already been released through her website.

A description teases: "[Jenny] breaks away from teatime telly and invites you to an evening of song, storytelling and even some showbiz secrets." It further states about the tour: "Join Jenny on a journey through her life and times via some of her favourite tunes, sung live with the powerful voice which blew the judges away on X Factor Celebrity."
