Patrick Mahomes made a cheeky request to the NFL Network ahead of the NFL Combine as he asked them to stop showing footage of his 40-yard dash - but they did it anyway.

The network often uses old footage to compare new players' runs with current NFL stars. But Mahomes thinks his run isn't very flattering and is sick of being used as a comparison.

"As the combine starts this week! All I ask is that NFL Network doesn't use my 40 overlay anymore," he joked on X, getting over 25,000 likes from fans. But the very next day, the NFL account quoted his post and wrote "Whoops", along with footage comparing Mahomes' run with defensive tackles T'Vondre Sweat and Braden Fiske.

Mahomes instantly responded with a light-hearted GIF of someone getting annoyed as his request for the footage not to be used again was quickly ignored. The 28-year-old was picked 10th by the Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft and has already had an amazing career, winning his third Super Bowl ring against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.

His 40 time is solid, but other quarterbacks in his draft class ran faster, including DeShaun Watson (4. 66), Mitchell Trubisky (4.67) and Joshua Dobbs (4. 64). Nonetheless, Mahomes has had the last laugh, building a successful team with head coach Andy Reid at Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes has shown that his performance at the Combine doesn't reflect his true running abilities. His skill in escaping the pocket and moving the chains was a key part of the Chiefs' offense throughout the season, especially in the playoffs where he gained 141 yards at more than six yards per carry.

Mahomes' athleticism has been a hot topic recently. After their victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game on Jan. 31, a video was shared by the Chiefs' social media team. It showed coach Reid and a shirtless Mahomes talking to the locker room.

Fans were quick to comment on Mahomes' "dad bod", which led to some light-hearted banter from the two-time NFL MVP. He joked on X: "Yoooo why they have to do me like that! ? ! ? ! ? #DadBodSZN," and added: "Like I got kids."

Jason Kelce, a hero for the Philadelphia Eagles and brother of Mahomes' teammate Travis, thanked Mahomes for "doing more for dad bods than anyone in history".
