Andre Onana has vowed Manchester United will "make it difficult" for Manchester City this weekend.

Onana is set to feature in his second Manchester derby since joining United from Inter Milan over the summer and the goalkeeper is relishing the contest. Speaking after United's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Onana quickly turned his attention to City.

"It's a great feeling, especially the way we won today against a good opponent," he said. "Now we're focused on the coming games. We all know how important the game is for us, for the club and city, so will be ready for them because we're Manchester United.

"It's not going to be easy but we'll make it difficult for them. I believe in my guys, we'll fight there and we'll see what happens. For sure, 100 per cent [I'm ready], we're ready to play these kinds of games, very nice and exciting game.

"We play against a very good top team, we know who they are and we'll be ready for them. Being part of this dressing room means you have quality. We've had a lot of injuries this season.

"But it's life and that can happen. My defenders were brilliant today and we need to do that every game. The clean sheet means a lot for us because we defend and attack together, so I'm very happy for all my guys."

United boss Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, said his side are excited to take on City on Sunday. " We have done well before against City and also lately against Liverpool, so we will prepare well," the Dutchman said in his pre-match press conference.

"The players are ready for it and looking forward to it. I can smell it. I'm around here and speak with the players, so we're really looking forward and excited. That passion, desire and determination, that is the base, but definitely when you go into the game on Sunday.

"We're on a good run. This period is very good, we are united. We are together and we will make a good game-plan. They have a good team but there are more good teams. They won last season, but we know and that is the challenge.

"But also Liverpool are a very good team and there are more good teams. We like the challenge and we're looking forward to the challenge with them. We want to win every game. That is always our mentality and our approach in every game."
