Gary Neville believes Sir Jim Ratcliffe may have already made up his mind about Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United.

Ten Hag, the Dutch manager, has only managed to win half of his 36 games this season. United ended up at the bottom of their Champions League group and didn't manage to get past the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Their hopes of Champions League football next season look slim too.

Ratcliffe hasn't said anything about Ten Hag and what his future holds, keeping his cards close to his chest. But it's thought that the manager still has some time left because of last season's League Cup victory and finishing in the top four. However, if the season doesn't end well, Sir Jim might have to make a decision.

INEOS is already making changes. Omar Berrada, who's currently on a break from Manchester City, will soon start his job as CEO. At the same time, Dan Ashworth has been told to stop working after he told Newcastle he wants to leave for United. Sir Jim wants him for the club's first-ever sporting director role.

Amid all the changes, Neville thinks a decision about Ten Hag's position as the main team's manager might be made soon, if it hasn't been already. And he suggests getting into the Champions League might not be the deciding factor.

Gary Neville, speaking to Sky Sports, shared his thoughts on the new management at Manchester United: "If you look at the guy [Berrada] who has come in from City as CEO and they're obviously looking to get Dan Ashworth in from Newcastle - they're going to make a decision, I think, quite quickly, if not already.

“I suspect Jim Ratcliffe and Dave Brailsford already know whether they are going to keep Erik ten Hag as manager next season. I can’t believe they're going to wait until May to make that decision and then leave themselves short.

“Where Manchester United have been found out in the last 10 years in recruitment on and off the pitch is making poor decisions, late decisions, not being ahead of the game. I don’t think they are going to do that.

He concluded by saying: "For me, I suspect they have probably come to a conclusion already. It may even be whether it's Champions League or not, they will stick with that decision."
