Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are partners in real life, but the duo have made appearances on the big screen together.

In Jennifer's documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, viewers are taken behind the scenes of her movie This Is Me...Now: A Love Story. One of her scenes for the film includes her and "Mr. Young Guy," as he's billed on IMdB, Carlito Olivero.

As the two filmed a scene where Jennifer's friends confront her about her dating habits, Ben is shown behind the scenes laughing at the scene and giving some directorial opinions. Later, Carlito talks to Ben, telling him that his brother is Ben's biggest fan and that Carlito loved the actor in Armageddon.

Jennifer and Ben laughed before Jen said: "That's why we haven't done one since."

Gigli came out in 2003 and was a romantic comedy film centered around Larry Gigli (played by Ben), a Los Angeles mobster, whose boss sends Ricki (played by Jennifer) to make sure he does a job correctly. Though the film had a lot of media attention behind it since Jennifer and Ben were dating at the time, it flopped big time at the box office.

The film, which introduced Ben and Jen to each other for the first time, is considered one of the worst films of all time, with a 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also only grossed $7.2 million (about £5.7 million) even though its budget was $75.6 million (about £59.6 million).

According to the film's IMDB page, theatres in the United Kingdom dropped the film a week after its release due to the poor attendance and ratings. Jennifer and Ben actually made an appearance in another film together after Gigli - Jersey Girl, which came out in 2004. Though Ben had a lead role in Jersey Girl and Jennifer had a small supporting role.

Ben and Jennifer dated from 2002 to 2004 and were engaged until they broke up three days before their wedding. The duo went on to marry others, have children, and get divorced before finding their way back to each other in 2021.

Another possible Jennifer and Ben collaboration might happen, as after Carlito walks away and Jennifer and Ben embrace, the singer tells her husband: "We're gonna do one, one day."

Jennifer Lopez's The Greatest Love Story Never Told is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
