A vicious brawl at one of Britain’s busiest train stations was caught on camera, as dozens of men clashed with police in terrifying scenes.

The footage starts with a man jumping the barriers at London Waterloo on Saturday before the incident quickly descended into violence as the men threw punches and shouted at each other. Police officers were quickly dragged into the tussle. One of the cops was dragged to the ground as the incident escalated close to the self-service ticket machines.

Several innocent passers-by, including women and children, can be seen desperately attempting to avoid the distressing scenes before a large group of high-vis wearing officers joined their colleagues on the concourse. They then formed a line to keep the warring men at bay as the shouting continued. It is believed the disagreement was after football matches at the weekend.

The shocking incident was shared online with several people lamenting the scenes. One person said: “Happens after every game, getting so bored of it all. I never feel safe taking the family and worry about our safety during the matches.”

Another added: “Sorry, but this is embarrassing, and I cannot imagine how it must have made the innocent bystanders feel (parents with children, visitors to our city), seeing this. Well done to the law enforcement teams for resolving this.”

Another said: “I doubt any of these are "firm connected". Just probably some stone island clad wannabes who have had one too many Fosters. I'm sure if they came across someone who is probably trained (including myself and others from up and down the country) they'd run an absolute mile.”

Another person joked: “Not the first time there’s been a battle at Waterloo.”

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "At around 9pm on Saturday (24 February), British Transport Police officers on patrol at Waterloo railway station, alongside officers from the Metropolitan Police, responded to disorder between football fans. The situation was de-escalated and no arrests were made.”
