Holly Willoughby stunned as Stephen Mulhern flashes his 'abs' during racy dance

Stephen Mulhern left his Dancing On Ice co-host Holly Willoughby stunned during Sunday night's show, as he ripped off his shirt during a special performance.

The Deal or No Deal presenter, 46, sparked a fierce debate on social media thanks to his saucy dance routine on the ice rink over the weekend - with some deeming the Magic Mike tribute to be inappropriate for an early evening broadcast, while others jokingly encouraged Stephen to join OnlyFans.

The Magic Mike crew performed on stage, with the six shirtless dancers entertaining the audience with a daring performance that included hip thrusts and gyrations. Stephen had ITV viewers - and co-host Holly - in stitches as he joined the troupe and tore open his shirt to reveal what appeared to be some very toned abs.

"I actually have no words," a stunned Holly laughed after Stephen's racy cameo, before encouraging viewers to vote for their favourite celebrity skater. "I’m not sure what just happened! Blimey Stephen," one Dancing On Ice fan wrote on social media following the cheeky dance.

"It was a body suit," another viewer wrote as many mused if Stephen's muscles were in fact fake, with one asking: "Is that Stephen Mulhern's body??" Others took issue with the shirtless men in general - real abs or not. "Magic Mike is now wholesome family viewing? What the f**k happened there," one fumed, with another raging: "What on Earth has happened to Sunday evening TV? Where's Songs of Praise?"

Stephen's striptease comes amid news Dancing on Ice is facing an "uncertain future" after Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean decided to retire, leading insiders to predict a "last hurrah" for the ITV show. The duo celebrated the 40th anniversary of their amazing Winter Olympics win in Sarajevo by announcing they would no longer perform together.

This news came as the ITV show recorded its lowest ever audience, with only 2.9 million viewers tuning in to watch the celebrity skaters on January 28 - a far cry from the 12 million viewers who used to watch during the show's peak times. It's a big disappointment for Holly, who returned to the show this year after leaving This Morning.

Torvill and Dean have said they will say goodbye with a UK tour next year but have made it clear they want to stay on the Dancing on Ice judging panel. Insiders have said the show has a battle to keep going, with costs being a major issue as many of the 12 celebrity contestants earn six-figure sums.

ITV has many costs for Dancing on Ice, including the presentations by Holly and Stephen, pay for the 12 professional skaters and four judges, who include dancing celebs Oti Mabuse from Strictly and Ashley Banjo. They also need to keep Bovingdon Airfield Studios' ice rink in Hertfordshire in top shape. Some folks close to the show mentioned that next year's season may be branded as Torvill and Dean's "one last hurrah".

An insider told the Mirror over the weeked: "Dancing on Ice faces an uncertain future. The ratings are low for a big weekend show and without Torvill and Dean putting in their performances this could be the end of the road. It is an incredibly expensive show to make. It only works if it gets a big audience." A TV spokesman declared yesterday: "Dancing on Ice remains a popular format for us, having launched with 4.2 million viewers."
