I'm A Celebrity and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner was confronted by a dog owner in a car park after he filmed his pets locked in the vehicle with the windows closed.

The soap star was angry after finding the two dogs locked in a car and filmed himself showing that the there was no way any oxygen could enter the car and he waited to make his point to the animals' owner, which threatened to turn violent after the owner took offence to Owen's concern.

Owen was walking home from his job at Hits UK radio when he spotted the dogs in the car. The soap star, who has recently filmed his final scenes as Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks, shared the video to Instagram as he looked to show the plight of the dogs that had been left in the car for three hours.

In the video, taken in an underground car park, Owen told his followers: "So I finished the radio show over an hour ago and i am now spending my sat night stood by this car because people don't know how to look after dogs."

After showing a small white dog sat in the driver's seat, Owen continued: "Poor little dog was barking his head off and has now settled now. No windows [open]." Owen then showed a small dog crate on the back seat and his anger continued.

He continued: "These poor dogs man, look at that one in the back in that tiny little cage. I don't know how long this car has been there. I know it's not that hot so it's technically not as bad but it's still bad, man. You can't leave dogs in a car with no windows open."

The video then cuts to the driver returning to the vehicle and confronts the soap star, who finished second to Jill Scott in the 2022 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. Owen shouts to the owner: "ro, you left two dogs in there!"

The man responds: "Yeah, and?" Owen went on the offensive and told him: "I've called the police and RSPCA, no windows open. Look how distressed they are, man." The owner was not best pleased with this intervention and his annoyance ratchets up a few levels, aggressively telling Owen: What's your f****** problem, stop videoing me." The man then made a grab for Owen's phone in an attempt to stop him filming.

Owen hit back at him, and demanded: "Don't touch me bro, I am going to video you. You have got a little cage like that, no respect or apologies to the dogs?" The soap star then continues to slam the dog owner, telling him not to hold the dog around its neck.

The man then shouts at Owen: "How long have you been here?" The Hollyoaks star replied that he had been there for two hours. The dog owner then aggressively shouts "F*** off!" before driving the wrong way out of the car park. After the confrontation, Owen adds on the video: "Learn to look after your dogs, don't leave them in the car for that long just because you want to go for a meal."

Captioning the video on Instagram, Owen wrote: "I wasn’t going to post this but the lack of remorse shown and aggression towards me made me think I should, don’t get dogs if you don’t know how to look after them."

The Mirror has contacted Owen Warner's representatives about the incident.
