Melissa told Billie that they have met before

Billie Eilish and Melissa McCarthy really got into it as presenters.

The singer and actress were presenting the Female Actor in a Comedy Series award at the 2024 SAG Awards but before announcing the nominees, Melissa decided to ask Billie for her autograph, on her face. It started when Melissa joked about being starstruck over Billie and said that they have actually met before, not once but three times. Billie did not recall so Melissa went on to explain.

Melissa said: "We’ve actually met before, but it’s okay, it doesn’t matter. I mean, why would you remember that? You shouldn’t remember. We’ve meet twice, actually we’ve met thrice. You’ve met my daughters and one of my dogs." She continued: "Fun fact, since you’re asking, I also met you originally in utero because your mom was my first improv teacher. And guess who she was pregnant with? It was you."

Billie Eilish signed Melissa McCarthy's face with a permanent marker

Billie thought it was "a lot." Melissa told Billie that she wanted to be "more present in making memories" and trying more "YOLO-ing" and "less FOMO-ing." This led Melissa to ask Billie to sign her dress, which she quickly declined and said "I don't want to ruin it." Melissa then asked if the singer could sign her face and Billie agreed with no hesitation. Billie quickly autographed Melissa's face with a sharpie and could not hold her laugh.

Viewers at home were shocked at Melissa's dedication but were very much entertained. One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Melissa McCarthy’s dedication to the bit is frightening and impressive #SAGAwards." Another wrote: "Billie Eilish signing Melissa McCarthy’s face is the funniest thing I’ve seen in 5 decades of awards show fandom #SAGAwards."

Some people were even impressed and hoped that Melissa wrote the skit. A user wrote: "Melissa McCarthy's commitment to the bit is... impressive. #SAGAwards," as another one wrote: "I hope Melissa McCarthy wrote that bit." If anything, what took fans by surprise was the fact that Billie autographed Melissa's face with a sharpie marker as they wrote: "Billie signed Melissa McCarthy’s face … in SHARPIE… at the Sag Awards.. IN SHARPIE."

But not all jokes can be praised as some thought it was pathetic on Melissa's part. One person wrote: "Melissa, have some dignity." Another wrote: "I’m embarrassed for Melissa McCarthy #SAGAwards."
