Dancing on Ice returns later this weekend for its quarter final, with the remaining six couples set to compete on the ice for the chance to make it one step closer to winning.

Among the contestants still in the ITV ice skating contest is Eddie Edwards, 60, best known as 'Eddie the Eagle'. The former Olympic ski jumper is partnered with professional ice skater Vicky Ogden, 39, for his stint on the latest series.

The pair were one of the lowest scoring couples last week, for the first time in the series, but avoided being in the skate-off. Recent odds however suggest that Eddie and Vicky are unlikely to progress to next weekend's semi-final.

According to bookmaker Betfred's latest figures, Eddie is "most likely" to be eliminated on Sunday night's episode. It has given him odds of 6/5 and a 45 percent probability of being the next contestant voted off Dancing on Ice.

Eddie however could avoid being voted out. Former Olympic long jumper Greg Rutherford, 37, follows closely behind him with odds of 9/4 to be out next, whilst Love Island winner and West End performer Amber Davies, 27, has 4/1 odds.

Whilst former Coronation Street cast member Ryan Thomas, 39, radio presenter Adele Roberts, 44, and Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire, 28, have odds on being eliminated next of 11/2, 16/1 and 33/1 respectively.

Betfred showbiz specialist Kayley Cornelius said: "Once a fan favourite to win, Eddie Edwards is now skating on thin ice as he has been on a steady decline in recent weeks. He may struggle to make it to the semi-finals at this rate."

She said: "Especially after scoring a personal low of 32.5 last weekend. As the show becomes more demanding, it's evident that Eddie is having difficulty executing the intricate and skilful moves, and he has become less stable on his feet.

"While Eddie has managed to avoid the skate-off up until now, it's inevitable that he will find himself there on Sunday night if he doesn't stage a comeback. However, a potential saving grace for Eddie is [fellow contestant Greg].

"While Greg is a good performer, I have yet to be wowed by him unlike the other remaining contestants in the series, and I worry he may start to blend into the background and become forgettable. While Greg is currently doing enough to get by, if he fails to deliver a standout performance in the coming weeks, it could very well be the end of the line for him."

Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday night from 6.30pm on ITV and ITVX, ahead of the semi-final next weekend. Catch up on previous episodes of the latest series of the show through the streaming platform now.
