The Apprentice airs double firing as star fumes over 'criminal' candidates
The Apprentice fans were treated to a double departure on the BBC series on Thursday night.
For the first time in the 2024 series, two candidates were fired by Lord Alan Sugar, losing their places on the show just weeks in. Episode four ended with both Jack Davies and Amina Khan heading home, after the two teams were sent to Jersey to secure nine items synonymous to the area.
Project Manager Jack and team member Amina found themselves on the losing team after failing to negotiate for a list of nine items Lord Sugar had instructed the two teams to find on the Channel Island. Jack, a recruitment director from Bristol, put himself forward as Project Manager in a move that cost him dearly.
The candidates went off on their trip to find the specified items, but it all went wrong very quickly. Jack and Amina's team had no idea what most if not all of the items were, even some of the more obvious ones.
As their team split into two, half chased some of the items, and the others looked for the rest. It didn't get off to a great start for Amina and her two teammates, with Amina accusing Jack of keeping the better items for himself.
Happy Valley's Clare's death 'confirmed' after tragic final exchange with sisterWhen it came to negotiating, both teams struggled and it got to a point where every suggested price was rejected, leading to minutes of more and more requests to lower the price by the candidates.
Lord Sugar's adviser on the show Karren Brady was far from impressed with the team as she monitored them, calling them "criminal" witnessing Amina and the others spending way too long in a market and not buying anything, only to walk past some of them items they were meant to be buying. Not only that, but Karren was horrified to see Amina purchase a jersey that she had already seen in the very market they'd just left, having to pay more in the shop.
As for Jack, he left his co-stars annoyed as he interrupted their negotiations, not happy with the amounts. When Amina and the others were late back meeting the whole group, Jack was annoyed and suggested it could ruin things for them.
It wasn't exactly smooth sailing got the opposite team and their Project Manager Raj either. The team also struggled with the negotiating and agreeing with each other, while they managed to get all but one item.
But drama asides they did have a success in the boardroom, only having a fine of £90 compared to the other team's fine of £274 for two missed items, one wrong item and lateness. When it came down to it, Jack's team were brought back in to face Lord Sugar before Jack and Amina turned on each other.
They weren't the only ones, as other members of their team also called out their actions in the task. Lord Sugar came to his decision though, and with that he fired both Jack and Amina.
