Amy Dowden feels 'lucky' amid cancer battle as she teases upcoming projects

Amy Dowden was trying to make her social media followers jealous as she enjoyed some relaxation time at a luxury spa resort.

The 33-year-old Strictly Come Dancing professional - who is battling grade III breast cancer - looked like she was having the best time as she splashed around in a hot tub in Wales. The TV star has been treated to a trip to the luxury Milk Wood House at the Dylan Coastal Resort in Laugharne on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, Wales. The report spa is located near sandy beaches near the ancient Brecon Beacons and includes world-class spa and dining facilities.

On Thursday, Amy was only too happy to show off just how luxurious the location is as she created a video of herself enjoying an outdoor soak online. The TV star was glowing as she relaxed in a bubbling hot tub while taking time out of her hectic schedule. She also teased fans with details of a string of projects that she will soon be working on.

Flashing a beaming smile, Amy shared her video via Instagram Stories and said: “Good afternoon. How lucky am I? In the hot tub… Worked all morning and I’ve got so much to share with you guys. One thing will be tomorrow, so stay tuned. But yeah, lots of exciting projects coming up.

Amy then panned her camera around showing that she had a stunning view of rolling hills, trees, nature, and a distant lake. She appeared to be in a personal hot tub which had glass panelling to shield from wind, and the weather looked pleasant with sunshine and some fluffy clouds in the distance.

Continuing, she went on: “In the hot tub and yeah, just wanted to come on here and say ‘Hello, happy Thursday everybody’. Thank you so much again for all the lovely messages I have received this week. They really do mean the world to me. Lot’s of Welsh love!” She signed off with a kiss to the camera.

Dare To Dance is Amy’s reality show that has been airing on the BBC since last year. The heartwarming show sees Amy help people perfect routines that they then perform to the delight of family and friends. She previously said of the series: "It wasn’t about creating the most special, best dance routine or dance ever, it was about creating their moment to celebrate them and their lives. It wasn’t a competition, it was just something to celebrate them.”

She added: “It was a really emotional journey full of happiness, happy tears, excitement, pride. It was a real journey and it was so lovely to get to know them and their families and for them to have their moment."
