King Charles faces a tough decision when it comes to his son Prince Harry following their brief reunion.

The monarch and his youngest son met briefly after the King's cancer diagnosis was announced with Harry rushing from LA to be by his father's side. But now, with Harry seemingly willing to return to the Royal family unit, the King is left to decide if he can allow it.

Many royal experts have predicted a temporary return to duties as a working Royal for Harry after Charles' diagnosis with an unspecified form of the disease, especially as Kate Middleton is also on rest after her planned abdominal surgery. However, some sources close to the King have now shed light on the situation.

Sources have claimed that despite the grand gesture Harry made by jetting to the UK for just 30 minutes in his father's company, the King is adamant that Harry won't be returning to working life. A source told the Daily Mail: “Have the King and Harry been speaking? Yes. Does this mean a return to the fold even temporarily? No.”

A second added: “Aside from a small number of investitures, the King does not plan to offload a great number of duties on other family members while he undergoes treatment.” However, while it seems Harry isn't being involved on a working level, it does appear both he and Charles are hoping to repair their damaged relationship.

Talking to ABC’s Good Morning America last week Harry hinted at his plans to spend more time with his family moving forward. He told presenter Will Reeve: “I love my family. And the fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see [my father] and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

Will - who is the son of the late paralysed Superman star Christopher Reeve - then referenced his own experience of family tragedy as he asked “I’ve also found in my own life that sort of an illness in the family can have a galvanising or a sort of reunifying effect for a family. Is that possible in this case?”

Harry replied: “I think any illness, any sickness, brings families together. I see it time and time again. I have got other trips planned that would take me through the UK or back to the UK. I will stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
